Post-operative pulmonary management following a total laryngectomy is the first step of the patient’s rehabilitation journey.

Early access to humidification has been shown to reduce mucus plugging, less need for suctioning, less coughing and less distress for the patient as well as reducing the working load for clinicians.

This early engagement can also allow the patient to begin their rehabilitation journey more quickly and become familiar, competent and confident with the products they will be using which has a positive impact on their quality of life upon discharge.
